This is easily one of the best smart ovens I’ve ever used, and I’ve gone through quite a few over the past two decades. My family prefers toasted food over microwaved food, so I have high standards when choosing a smart oven air fryer that meets our needs. The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Compact is the perfect size for my kitchen—it doesn’t take up too much space. I love that it comes with an air fryer basket, a holder tray, and a catcher tray that’s super easy to clean! The only minor issue is that the catcher tray removes too easily and doesn’t stay in place. I wish it had a mini lock, but it’s not a dealbreaker. This oven has so many settings—my favorites are air fry and toast. You can also use it for bagels, pizza, broiling, baking, roasting, fries, and more. It’s truly a versatile smart oven. I also appreciate how easy it is to adjust the temperature, time, and even the level of toastiness. It uses a convection system with a fan and exhaust that circulates hot air evenly throughout the oven. Overall, based on my experience so far, I’d rate this a solid 4.5/5. It’s fantastic and easy to clean. I just wish the catcher tray had a locking mechanism or at least a click sound to confirm it’s secured. It works pretty well and does not overheat either!
This is a beautifully designed air fryer. The build quality is great like all Breville products i have used. The double deck makes it easy to cook different things at the same time. The only bad thing is that the air fryer heats up on the outside to the extent that I’ve accidentally touched and burned myself a couple times. I wish there was more thought put into the deisign when its a stand alone device that will mostly sit on countertops where i could easily see most people doing this.
We’ve had this for a few weeks and are just getting used to it! We are new to the toaster oven/air fryer world. So far we really love it! We have a Wolf gas range and right now electricity is cheaper than propane so we thought this would be a good idea alternative for a retired couple who like to cook but don’t need the big gas oven all the time. We’ve used it for toast, reheating, roasting vegetables and dipped our toes into air frying. So far so good. Our only complaint is no light inside and lots of small type to read before pushing go - so reading glasses needed, at least for now! And we keep a flashlight close by!
