Great kettle!
I drink multiple cups of tea each day. This is the pefect kettle for a tea drinker. With several temperature settings, a keep warm function, and sleek modern glass construction, it works well and looks nice on my countertop. I had my first one for about 2 years. After 2 years of daily use, it stopped working. I reached out to Breville customer support to determine if I could fix it. Although their first response to my inquiry was slow, they did eventually get back to me. They exchanged it for a brand new one, with very little hassle to me. I recommend purchasing it if you are a tea drinker.
Defective Lid
This is a great kettle, but there is an issue with the lid which won't stay closed. This usually happens after several months or a year of use. Based on reviews everywhere, I see that the issue is going for years. I bought the kettle 5 years ago and the lid stopped functioning in a year of use. I disassembled the lid, found the defect and fixed it. It is a design flaw which can be fixed by the manufacturer. But the manufacturer or designer does not correct the flaw, despite numerous negative reviews.
Loved it until the handle separated from the Glass
I have had the Breville IQ Kettle:tm: Pure for a couple of years thoroughly enjoying the consistency and dependability. This morning the handle separated from the kettle rendering it useless. The lid no longer closes as a result. I attempted to get a replacement part online only to learn the kettle is not a part to be purchased. I am disappointed in Breville, and do not recommend this product. I absolutely expect kettles to work beyond a couple years before failing.
