I was pleasantly impressed by the Breville Lux Toaster with its streamlined appearance and toasting functions. I especially liked the dial feature on the front of the toaster, giving it a retro look. The carry handles on the bottom sides of the toaster make it easy to transport. You do have to play around with the toasting doneness until you achieve the desired color and doneness. The stainless steel is extremely attractive and will enhance any kitchen decor, however, it does leave fingerprints. I highly recommend the Breville Lux Toaster.
There is a setting for just about anything your going to heat up in the toaster. The toast comes out perfect, you just gotta set it on which bread you use and set the digital timer on which browness you want. I set mine on number 2, don’t want it too brown. You can heat up waffles, toast bread and much more. Comes in handy with a family of 5. It matches my appliances, love the color and all the finishing touches!!
I originally purchased the long slot "A Bit More" toaster two years ago. It functioned satisfactorily for about a year, then one side of the heating elements stopped functioning. Breville customer support replaced it with the same model, but upon receiving it, it was clear the heating elements were just incapable of producing a piece of evenly toasted bread, with burning of the edges occurring while other parts were almost completely untoasted. Once again they replaced it, this time offering me the choice of the high end die-cast long slot. What a beautiful piece of machinery! Loved the motor drive. Unfortunately, no love for the toast. Exact same problem. Read so many reviews citing the same issues. They finally accepted my suggestion to replace it with the uniformly well-reviewed Toast Select Luxe. Voila. Nicely browned toast. I found another reviewer's comments about the 70/30 and 60/40 heating element power split on these models to be on the money and helpful in understanding how these toasters operate. Ultimately, Breville stood by their warranty throughout this process and deserve props for that. Okay...one niggle. Yes, as noted in some reviews, the pop-up force of the toaster's spring sometimes ejects a piece of toast out of the slot, usually landing on top of the toaster. I can live with it, but suggest Breville use a slightly smaller spring.
