Inner elements
The inner elements are not working. Disappointed since I consider Breville a quality product.
Works well but cheaply made doneness knob.
I purchased this toaster a little over two years ago and have been happy with it until the doneness knob broke off. As a previous customer wrote, the knob is cheaply made plastic. What I am not happy about is the response I received from a customer service representative when I called to see if I could purchase a replacement part. I was told the toaster could be fixed if it fell under the one year warranty but since it has been over a year there is nothing that can be done. I found this perplexing and disappointing. My kitchen is filled with numerous Breville products, but I will be rethinking future purchases of this brand based on the lack of customer service.
Great toaster, but flimsy knob can break off
The toaster performs beautifully. I'm happy with the evenness of the toasting performance, and I appreciate the flexibility its large slots provide- I can toast 4 English muffins or long baguettes with ease. However, I am disappointed that the doneness knob has broken off after only 6 months of use. The knob appears to be connected to the body by a flimsy piece of plastic, so it's not very durable. I'm particularly disappointed because my old toaster lasted over a decade with no issues.
