Great Tea Kettle - But Fragile
I recently purchased a third Tea Maker for my daughter. The first was a Christmas present in 2018. Unfortunately the carafe broke in 2019 when it tipped over on the drying mat after washing it. Since my daughter absolutely loved it, I replaced it for her. In January 2021, her sister was visiting and as she rinsed out the carafe, it lightly (and I mean that sincerely) tapped the faucetand cracked. Again we replaced it. It’s a great small appliance and my daughter uses it every single day. I just wish the carafe could be replaced instead of having to purchase an entire new unit. We now have 3 bases, 3 baskets and 3 lids. Maybe I should put 2 of each on eBay! The first photo shows the carafe on the drying mat and the second shows the crack on carafe #2.
This was great -EXCEPT
This was a birthday gift for me. I loved it when it worked no just now put on a pot of water for tea and the carafe shattered. It’s so thin and apparently not treated for high temps?!
The Tea Maker is life changing!
The Tea Maker is life changing! I have several teapots and am a tea aficionado; yet I get distracted and let it steep too long if not using my Tea Maker. There’s several settings for temp, strength and time to steep to your liking. I also appreciate the keep warm feature when making a larger pot. If that wasn’t enough, you can boil water quick for other uses. This is my 2nd Tea Maker after my original had an unfortunate accident and shattered. The original lasted 10 years and even survived freshman yr at college and back. My only struggle is cleaning behind the arm and getting the tannins off the stainless. I highly recommend the Tea Maker.
